Holbeach Hospital Attains Gold Standards Beacon Status

Holbeach Hospital attains Gold Standards Beacon Status in recognition of the dignified and compassionate care given to end of life residents.

Holbeach Hospital has successfully completed the GSF Care Homes Re Accreditation Round and has been awarded the prestigious Quality Hallmark at Beacon status.  Beacon status is the highest level of award that can be achieved.  The Gold Standards award recognises how well the hospital cares for end of life residents and the hard work and commitment of all staff to provide the highest levels of care.

Manager, Maxine Winch, says “All of the staff are proud to provide care to our residents.  We take seriously the dignity and needs of all of those in our care.  We form relationships that grow over months and sometimes years.  When a resident dies we remember the time they spent with us”

The Hospital has a Tree of Life, situated in the entrance hall, full of all of the residents that have been cared for in celebration of the lives they have lived.  Treating people with dignity is key to the care given at Holbeach Hospital.  Human dignity means protecting others self esteem and a sense of pride that causes you to treat yourself and others with self respect, placing value on life.

The staff here are passionate about delivering gold standard care and have totally embraced the Gold Standards Framework. The National Gold Standards Framework (GSF) improves the quality, coordination and organisation of care leading to better patient outcomes in line with their needs and preferences and greater cost efficiency through reducing hospitalisation.   The GSF report noted “dignified and compassionate care was evident during the visit. The manager has fully embraced GSF within the home ensuring all staff are aware and understand the principles. The passion felt around the home was tangible.”
